The state's capital is Arlington, Texas. It is the second largest city in the state of Texas. It is the official seat of the State of Texas.

There are many fine art establishments in this district, including the Strand Theatre, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Dallas Museum of Art. The stately Hyatt Regency Arlington is also a hotel in the district.

In the main strip there are many fine restaurants. The Texas Monthly on Commerce Street has a bar that serves alcoholic beverages. The Dallas Police Museum and Science Museum are the nearest museums in the city. The Dallas Farmers Market is also found here.

Other places of interest to tourists include the Smithsonian Institution, the Children's Discovery Museum and the Texas Medical Center.
