The Va. state park system in the Shenandoah Valley is a beautiful area full of special history and adventure. The one known "historic town" is Blacksburg, which also has a museum that tells the story of the War Between the States. But Blacksburg, near the Shenandoah River, is not only famous for the Civil War and the museums, it's also where many people go to vacation.

This is a town that has been in existence for over a long time, since the first settlers came to what would become the Chesapeake Bay. It is home to George Washington, the first President of the United States. After his death, Blacksburg became home to many dignitaries and patriots who saw their home rise up around him. And today, it's known as the home of President Obama, who has his main headquarters here.

And while this is a historic town, it's not in the least bit restricted when it comes to entertainment. It has many bars and restaurants, and many people like to enjoy a nice evening out on the town. And if you're looking for something fun, check out the weekend flea market in Blacksburg. It can be packed from July to October with hundreds of items that will make your family's summer even more fun.

You might want to take a hike to the top of Mountain Way, a scenic trail through the Shenandoah Valley, and watch for deer. There are great views of the mountain ranges and the valley below. If you have kids, do not let them play on the trail. It can be very slippery.

When it comes to shopping, the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and Ferry company sponsor a charity event every year called National Wildlife Week, and each year they offer free admission to the National Bird Center. They also sponsor the National Aquarium and sell books, crafts, and toys at their local farm market. And if you buy something you can bring it home for free!

You might want to head to the Little River Fishing and Camping in Blacksburg to take in the peaceful sounds of the birds. Some people come just to listen to the flowing water and to see the fish swimming. And the cool weather makes it a wonderful place to get away from it all and relax. It's a wonderful place to visit, and as you can see, Blacksburg is a beautiful place that you will definitely enjoy.
