The Great Falls of Montana has long been a tourist attraction for people visiting Montana. This state's history is as intriguing as the lands themselves, and people can visit websites which tell the story of this colonial era. The inhabitants of this region were Bannock Indians, who built a fortress along the mouth of the Yellowstone River, afterwards referred to as the Great Falls of Montana. Following the country was incorporated in 1858, four Falls--the Silver Dike, Great Falls, Bighorn Falls, and St. Francis Falls--were assembled, but the last one was not finished before the 1930s.
The Rockies, which offer breathtaking views of the North and South Misty Mountains dominate the landscape of Montana's southwest corner. There are many trail systems from the state, a few of which will take you along the banks of the several canals and ponds, and many others of which wind past farmhouses and stone buildings in the quaint, historical towns of Helena, Missoula, Bozeman, and Missoula. The main attractions in the country are, of course, the national parks, including the Jasper Ridge area of Glacier National Park and Glacier National Park. Also, through the Ironwood Wilderness, which is situated south of the Glacier National Park boundary, people can push along the route of the Yellowstone River. The visitor can take part in geothermal tours and learn more about the geysers of the Yellowstone River Valley while there.
Missoula is frequently regarded as the"gateway to the west," due to its close association with the British settlements of Britain and Canada. Its landscape is characterized by towering waterfalls, wooded hills, and lakes. Additionally, there are beautiful, historical towns and cities in town, such as Yellow Medicine (pop. 46000), where one can enjoy the thrills of horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking, and boating. The Capitol, that is known for its architecture, is a wonderful place to see, and the Old Capitol Building is quite famous. A number of the different areas of the country that make wonderful holidays are: Bigfork, where guests can rent cottages or bed and breakfasts; Bozeman, where you are able to enjoy horseback riding and biking; Missoula, which offers canoeing and hiking; and Kalispell, that includes some of the finest breweries in the country.
