The Great Falls of Montana has long been a tourist attraction for those visiting Montana. The state's history is as intriguing as the lands and visitors can visit with several websites which tell the story of this era. This area's first residents were Bannock Indians, who built a fortress across the mouth of the Yellowstone Rivercalled the Great Falls of Montana. After the state had been incorporated in 1858, four Falls--the Silver Dike, Great Falls, Bighorn Falls, and St. Francis Falls--were assembled, but the previous one was not completed before the 1930s.
The Rockies, which provide breathtaking views of the North and South Misty Mountains and the rolling farmlands that surround them dominate the landscape of the southwest corner of Montana. There are many trail systems from the country, some of which will take you across the banks of the various canals and ponds, and lots of others of that end beyond farmhouses and stone buildings at the quaint, historic cities of Helena, Missoula, Bozeman, and Missoula. The main attractions in the country are, needless to say, the parks, including Glacier National Park's Jasper Ridge region and Glacier National Park. Also, through the Ironwood Wilderness, which can be situated south of the Glacier National Park boundary, people can drive along the course of the Yellowstone River. While there, the visitor can take part in geothermal tours and learn more about the geysers of the Yellowstone River Valley.
Missoula is frequently regarded as the"gateway to the west," because of its close association with the British settlements of Britain and Canada. Waterfalls, wooded hills, and crystal-clear lakes characterize its landscape. There are also beautiful, historical towns and cities in the city, including Yellow Medicine (pop. 46000), where you can enjoy the joys of horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking, and boating. The Capitol, which is known for its architecture, is a wonderful place and the Old Capitol Building is famous. A number of the other areas of the country that make fantastic holidays are: Bigfork, where guests can rent cottages or bed and breakfasts; Bozeman, where you are able to enjoy horseback riding and biking; Missoula, that offers canoeing and hiking; and Kalispell, that features some of the finest breweries in the nation.
