The Great Falls of Montana has long been a tourist attraction for those visiting Montana. The state's history is as fascinating as the lands and visitors can see sites which tell the story of the colonial era. The first inhabitants of this region were Bannock Indians, who built a fortress along the Yellowstone River's mouth called the Great Falls of Montana. After the country had been incorporated in 1858, four Falls--the Silver Dike, Great Falls, Bighorn Falls, and St. Francis Falls--were constructed, but the last one wasn't completed before the 1930s.
The Rockies, which provide breathtaking views of the North and South Misty Mountains and the rolling farmlands that surround them dominate the landscape of the southwest corner of Montana. There are lots of trail systems from the country, some of which can take you across the banks of the several canals and ponds, and lots of others of that wind beyond farmhouses and stone buildings in the quaint, historic cities of Helena, Missoula, Bozeman, and Missoula. The key attractions in the state are, of course, the parks, including the Jasper Ridge region of Glacier National Park and Glacier National Park. Also, through the Ironwood Wilderness, which can be situated south of the Glacier National Park boundary, visitors can push along the route of the Yellowstone River. While there, the visitor can take part in tours that are geothermal and explore the geysers of the Yellowstone River Valley.
Missoula is often considered the"gateway to the west," due to its close affiliation with the British settlements of Britain and Canada. Its vast landscape is characterized lakes, wooded hills, and by towering shores. Additionally, there are beautiful, historic cities and towns in town, including Yellow Medicine (pop) 46000), where you can enjoy the joys of horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking, and boating. The Capitol, which is known for its structure, is a wonderful place to see, and also the Old Capitol Building is famous. A number of the other regions of the country that make wonderful holidays are: Bigfork, where guests can rent cabins or bed and breakfasts; Bozeman, where you can enjoy horseback riding and biking; Missoula, which offers canoeing and hiking; and Kalispell, that features some of the best breweries in the nation.
