The Great Falls of Montana has long been a tourist attraction for those visiting Montana. The history of the state is as fascinating as the lands and visitors can visit with sites which tell the story of the era. The area's inhabitants were Bannock Indians, who built a fortress across the mouth of the Yellowstone River, afterwards referred to as the Great Falls of Montana. Following the state had been incorporated in 1858, four Falls--the Silver Dike, Great Falls, Bighorn Falls, and St. Francis Falls--were assembled, but the previous one wasn't completed until the 1930s.
The landscape of the southwest corner of Montana is dominated by the Rockies, which offer breathtaking views of the North and South Misty Mountains. There are lots of trail systems from the state, some of which will take you along the banks of the various canals and ponds, and lots of others of that wind past farmhouses and stone buildings at the quaint, historic towns of Helena, Missoula, Bozeman, and Missoula. The key attractions in the country are, needless to say, the parks, including Glacier National Park and Glacier National Park's Jasper Ridge area. Also, through the Ironwood Wilderness, which is located south of the Glacier National Park border, people can push along the Yellowstone River's route. While there, the visitor learn more about the geysers of the Yellowstone River Valley and can take part.
Missoula is often regarded as the"gateway to the west," due to its close affiliation with the British settlements of Britain and Canada. Its enormous landscape is characterized crystal-clear lakes, wooded hills, and by shores. There are also beautiful, historic towns and cities in town, such as Yellow Medicine (pop) 46000), where one can enjoy the thrills of horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking, and boating. Is a wonderful place and the Old Capitol Building is quite famous. Some of the other regions of the state that make fantastic holidays are: Bigfork, where guests can rent cabins or bed and breakfasts; Bozeman, where you are able to enjoy horseback riding and biking; Missoula, which offers canoeing and hiking; and Kalispell, that includes some of the best breweries in the nation.
